'War Stories'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I just checked my mail.

It really must be. I was scheduled a couple weeks ago, but I changed it and got my new date in the mail today.
Hil, I'm so glad you got that worked out. That sounds like such a good plan.
I was really afraid they were going to schedule me over Christmas vacation and cause me all manner of mayhem, but it's the week after I get back.
I have turned in my big paper and my group paper. DONE with the quarter! Trying not to focus on a tiny formatting thingy I did wrong on the big paper. No one is perfect, right?
YOU are the person Teppy was talking about!!!
Hah! It's TRUE!!!
If I were ever to obtain a handgun without knowing its provenance, I would certainly have the serial number checked out, just in case.
Yes. And then I'd want to learn how to use it. Hrm. However, usefully, the two-stepping gay leather daddy who got me to be Ms. Santa is also an NRA instructor! (How bizarre is that??) I'm thinking of asking him to teach me, just for fun.
when I was 18, my boyfriend gave me a gun for my birthday
....is this a New Mexico thing? Or did I just not hang out with the right crowd??
he was travelling and didn't get licensed to carry a gun in the states he was travelling through. He got stopped for speeding and was searched
So, no taking a gun on a roadtrip?
I'm at home making calls to very shocked and sad people.
Oh, that's tough. Strength and good luck in that
Fay (re: Queen)
The sad thing is, I wouldnt' have gotten this as wordplay until you mentioned, and then I had to go "huh? OH!"
Its right up there with coffee grounds on vomit.
Huh. Only time I've heard of those together is "it's bad if your vomit looks like coffee grounds"...
Yay semester done, Gloomcookie!
Oh, and last time I had friends over to watch ANTM, I offered to make cookies. Only then I realized I hadn't yet bought flour and sugar (I had chocolate chips and butter and eggs, though!).
So this time I said "I know I have the ingredients, I'll make cookies". Got home, and I only have half a stick of butter. Can I halve the recipe?
Can I halve the recipe?
Totally. But, warning, you end up with less cookies.
I'm OK with fewer cookies for the moment--I plan to make more (cookie exchange at work!) soon, and will need to restock ingredients anyway.
