You whined about the cold every single time I talked to you, liar! Not that I blame you since I would have been whining too, but although you were willing to deal with it, you can't say that you didn't mind it.
Unless you were lying to me...

I went out to stand in line for a Wii at 6 a.m. this morning in 1 degree temp. Thermasilks under jeans, t-shirt, Columbia zip jacket, Columbia ski jacket with liner, gloves, hat & scarf and new boots. I was remarkably warm, even though we only had to wait a half an hour before they passed out the tickets to buy the Wii. We were too far back in the line and they ran out before they got to us.
The Wii wasn't even for me. It was for my sister--she wanted to buy it for her husband and stepson.
When we went to Paris in '02, we were there on a rotten, grey, rainy day. We were miserable with all the other tourists--except for the Scots who were there for the World Cup qualifiying match against France. Those guys were shivering in shirts and kilts in the low 40 degree weather, holding beers in both hands and singing and laughing.
Really, when it comes to cold, as long as you're dressed for it it's no big deal.
Problems occur when you're
not
dressed for it, or if you thought you'd only be out in the cold a few minutes and dressed accordingly, but then are stuck out for much longer.
Yup. Someone once said, "there is no bad weather, only bad clothing."
Yeah. I forgot to pack a hat and gloves. But I did have my good Diablo Sound coat and a sweater on.
We worked on painting and other house chores this weekend. Alas, decorating didn't happen yet. Pics of the 4 four legged members of the family in the mix. [link]
I miss the cold. I miss snow. Although, the slightly chilly & rainy weather we've had in SoCal of late has been comforting.
Only sixteen more days until I return to the frozen midwest for Christmas! Hurrah!!
Someone once said, "there is no bad weather, only bad clothing."
A Scot, of course. It was one of the lines in Billy Connolly's stand-up routine: "There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes."
The topic reminds me of the Christmas break I spent with Dad in Dhaka, Bangladesh, when they had a cold snap and overnight lows dropped into the mid-50s (Farenheit). People were dying of exposure.
I'm kinda drunk. I don't usually drink this much. Especially on a Sunday afternoon.
