Sox, what a wonderful resource site Travels with Child is! I'll definitely pass it on to my clients who are sure their traveling lives must end with the onset of children.
I always counter with my March-mate who strapped her 6 month old on her back and walked 3,000 miles, but your site is much more useful.
I just ate pork for the first time in... six years? Not sure how it will sit. It tasted okay though, so there's that.
beej! Thank you! That is great to hear - and also many future thanks for passing the site on.
It's not just me (and Iris), though - Raq's posts are filled with awesome. And hopefully there will be many more.
Jars! I heard about a major Guiness robbery ... no mention of a woman with pink hair though, so I guess you're clear.
Soooo glad I went to a college with no sorority system. Yay Quakers!
However, one amusing story - I was reading something on a board where they talked about Jesse Jackson (I think) being a Greek ... and someone in England posted something about how they weren't sure if "Greek" had any special meaning in the U.S., but otherwise "Jesse Jackson? Greek?!!!! WTF?"

Ha! I can't believe you heard about that! We're all quite amused. I heard about a robbery in... Australia, I think, today, where they broke into a warehouse, stole a bunch of hams, and wrote 'Merry Christmas' on the wall. Mass theft, the new Christmas tradition.
I don't have a child, but I
love
your site, Sox. I will pass it on to my friends with kidlets.
The news announcer sounded quite envious.

Some Boy Scouts selling Christmas trees (this is in my town) were robbed at gunpoint last night. Asswipes. (The thieves, not the Boy Scouts.)
Also, the mention of ham made me think of this -- some of you remember Herself, yes? She was shopping the other day -- in NYC -- and saw this in a store window: [link]
What's wrong with that picture?
I love it. Last year the Honeybaked Ham Store in Burbank had a Star of David and a Menorah painted in the window along with a Christmas Tree. I laughed like a loon.

She says today that Balducci's have changed their signs for the hams to "Perfect for Celebrations!" or something non-denominational. They must have gotten a few phone calls....
