The girl's not playing with a full deck, Giles. She has almost no deck. She has a three.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

JZ, I agree with the xposts.

The status is NOT quo.

JZ, I have to say that I agree with everyone above. They money and the commute are huge. Are you 100% that you've been offered this new position at your current company?

I'm getting the pig!

JZ, you emailed them and haven't formally signed anything yet. Personally I think you should do what's best for you and your family. Period. And congratulations on a new possible job that would make life so much easier for you!

Matt's coming to CO? Probably Boulder, right? Feh. But if he's in actual Denver and has time for dinner or coffee or somesuch, let me know. I'd be happy to hang out with your fabulous husband, beth.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

JZ, I agree with what everyone else said. If an offer comes through on your current place, you can tell the new place that you weren't expecting it or looking for it but you got an offer that you simply cannot pass up because of the money. You shouldn't feel guilty about it.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

It hasn't been offered at all; they just really need the position filled soon and they really want to see my resume. And apparently multiple people in my department are now flipped out and heavily invested in trying to prevent me from leaving the uni, so I'd have no end of good references.

It's not a sure thing, or even a probable thing, just a wanting to see my resume thing, but even that makes me feel ethically dodgy because I already said yes to the other people (not officially in writing, but still, it's my word and it makes me feel squeamish).

Possibly I am overendowed with scruples. Is anyone else perchance missing some?

something with a short, flippy skirt.
Thanks, Vortex! I will have to investigate my (rather hopeless at the moment) wardrobe and try to find something that will work. I think I may end up wearing something in the little black dress department.

Laga, yay dentist! Well, not yay, but yay you for making the appointment. And yes, make the therapist appointment, too. You've been talking about it for awhile, and I think it might be a really positive experience for you. Just be ready to decide that the one you go to first might not be your OTT (One True Therapist); you may need to shop around a bit to find one who works for you.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Quick! Someone distract JZ so we can steal her scruples!

Our wings are not tired

It's much more difficult to have scruples when you are naked.
