one of the things I loved about my law school was how hard my professors worked to avoid making gender/race/orientation generalizations.

Laura, come to DC in the winter! We go nuts as though we should be in Florida when the first flake hits the ground. Actually, before - with the first hint that there will be snow, people rush to the stores and stock up as though they won't be able to get more supplies until spring thaw (two weeks later).
And Sean, speaking for myself, I don't mind the detailed bulletins on your getting well - just don't go into that much detail on being sick, 'kay?
The prof isn't really ignorant. She just phrased things really badly. And every time she tried to fix it, it just got worse. I actually really like this prof, which is why I will be completely honest and lengthy in my reflection on today's class.
Oh, that's too bad. Makes it even more painful when it stems from an honest mistake.
