Oh, well, I seem to have gotten my share of family holiday drama out of the way, this evening. I talked to my SiL, who told me that my mother is finally getting into the Senior Living place they applied for ages ago. And also that my sister just had her gall bladder out.
So I called my sister, and she said, nothing to it, minor surgery, and if SiL has been shooting her mouth off, she probably told our mother, too.
I just smile and nod. And then realize that people can't see that over the phone, so I make encouraging noises too.
