A small road I used to travel to work up in Minnetonka ten years ago is lined with hardwood trees of massive proportions. Their branches arc over and shade the road. In fact the name of the road is "Shady Oak Road."
The city of Minnetonka has announced plans to make the road 4 lanes wide, and cut down 427 trees along the sides, mostly hardwoods.
This includes 117 trees that would otherwise be protected under the city's new tree retention and replacement ordinance.
Maybe they should just rename the 1.4 mile stretch Sunshine Trail.

I should be writing a paper. I just need to get started, and it should fall into place... not so much with the motivation though.
Went shopping for pants (the trousers version of pants, for the Brits reading along) last night. My stock was running quite low. I got 2 pairs of cords and 2 pairs of non-cords, slightly dressier worky pants, and 1 pair of the Lane Bryant Fit Right Jeans! Very exciting. Best jeans shopping experience ever. Got the red 3 bootcut average. I'm wearing them now to stretch them out a little bit. So glad the saleswoman kept reminding me they'd stretch- this is why I end up with jeans (and pants/trousers in general) that are too big for me after wearing them once.
Whee! Clothes. Just happy I've got some winter weight options!
Also, YAY for JZ's excellent job~ma. (knocking wood)
Hope your email goes off well, Kristin. Also, it sounds like it's good that you all have the week off- maybe it will keep the issues from escalating at least.
OK, back to paper writing. It's one of those things that I know will fall into place once I get that first paragraph done- just need to, well, DO IT.

I got home late, stayed up even later, and still woke up at 9. I may drug myself tonight, just to get some sleep!
Last night I got to see Harold and Maude. That was very interesting. I still can't figure out where I've seen some of the actors before. The movie evoked all sorts of emotions in me, from laughter, to shock, to anger/irritation, etc. What an experience!
Now to go for a bike ride. Yay, cross-training!
