Oh, and in utterly random and strange news...
I've been doing these IV iron treatments to deal with my anemia cause my Ferritin levels have been way low. It has been interesting watching it climb week by week. Well, in the last week - since I noted it was "fantastic", the level doubled and now I'm in the high range. WTF. Body chemistry is weird.
So, no more iron for a while. Yay. Odd, but yay!
I told Joe Monstro was lonely and cold with no books to keep him warm. All Monstro needs is a fresh coat of paint and he can live in the dining room and be warm and loved and surrounded with books.
Monstro made the trip East?
What did he do,
walk
?
Nachos
Samosas, in the end. With vegetable biriani.
God, I love Indian food. Specially vegetarian.
Interview with the author of
Going Gray,
a book about a middle-age woman who decided to stop dying her hair. [link]
My mother does it, my friends all do it, so I hardly gave a thought to that annoying hour, once a month, when I'd sit in the salon getting my dye job. And then I read Anne Kreamer's book Going Gray and everything changed. The former worldwide creative director of Nickelodeon not only traced her own growing-out process (painful), but she also she conducted surveys, hung out in bars, spoke with image consultants, and interviewed tons of women to try and find out exactly why we submit to this, what we're actually trying to get, and how much we're fooling ourselves. Kreamer's sleuthing was fascinating - the information she came up with both disturbing and hopeful - so I called the author to find out more.
Monstro made the trip East?
Yes he did.
What did he do, walk ?
He was packaged and shrink wrapped. [link]

just made my morning. I'm a kid! There's a world out here! Let's go!
Ha. I thought, "Aww, that looks like Emma." And then I looked at whose photostream it was.

I don't know if you noticed, but that was taken on our way into DisneyLand.
I might have gotten a tattoo today. And if I did get a tattoo today, it would be a very cathartic and life-affirming experience in the midst of a whole lot of crazy. And I might not be able to take my eyes off my forearm. If I did get a tattoo today. Which I totally did.
