They considered skipping me a grade, since I was definitely ready academically (except for my spelling, but really, that hasn't gotten much better over the years), and I was one of the oldest in the class anyway. My mom discussed it with the school. They decided not to, because they thought it was better socially for kids to be with their age group, and because they thought that I'd get teased in a higher grade because I was so small.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Should I call today to ask her out, or wait until tomorrow? I don't know the rules.
Ooh. It's too late now, but I think you should've done it today--or at least emailed today (if you know she checks it a lot). Because tomorrow is kinda late to be askign someone out for Saturday night (not to be all Rules-y about it, just, she may have plans).
I still haven't emailed my chemistry-lacking date from Monday. Can't decide what to say. Haven't gotten a picture from the one who is highly entertaining in email. And another one who emailedcute revealed the existence of a "spouse" in the most recent one. OY. Also, I've got like, seven people who i've at some point emailed or whatever, so I'm completely losing track of who is who. Doh.
I quite enjoyed Erin McKeown the one time I saw her, and like a few of her older songs, but haven't heard any of her newer stuff.
Go Fay! Your OKCupid profile kicks ass, and I'm sorry about the French girl. :(
Almost all of my relationships (including my current one, which seems to have some staying power) started out as friendship.
Hmm. I have never had that happen. Guess I'm the opposite of Steph! If there's no chemistry to start with (ie, after we've chatted and hopefully flirted a bit), I'm not likely at all to ever be into you. But then, my standards for chemistry aren't very high...
OK, and I'm not saying all those chemistry people ended up GOOD plans, but...some of them did! Sort of. Um. Says the single girl who just moved cross country...
we were living in different towns in England that year and didn't have regular internet access, so these were actual handwritten letters--I have them all stored safely away in a box
Which is SO COOL for your grandkids and descendants someday!
EW! So sorry about the mousetrap, Gris! (Though, at least it caught something?).
meara, insent - at least I think so... (and gracias)
I'ma going to go take a couple advil and a few Tums too. It seems that DH's aunt, who has had cancer for 6 years and battled it amazingly, has taken a turn for the worse and is in hospice.
ETA. I swear to god I'm a real person. not making this shit up.
Suzi, insent.
I got my new phone. The Motorola Q is very shiny.
The kids fell asleep on me on the couch so I just laid there for a while under the puppy pile, watching UFC with Christopher while the kids snoozed away.
They are all in bed now, though.
I'm at the Dali exhibit at LACMA. It's some of the most exquisitely beautiful art I've ever seen. I feel on the verge of tears. But that may just be because of how tired I am. The art is still beautiful, though.
t wanders into thread; looks around for someone to snuggle
I need Buffista cuddling. Best kind there is.
Aw, Kristin. Poor thing.
Okay, the various prints and posters of The Persistence of Memory do it no justice at all. For one thing, it is much smaller than all those posters. It's tiny and beautiful and haunting.
