I would like to tell you all what kind of aunt I am. My 20-year-old niece (the one who has been in and out of rehab) is staying with her dad in Holland. She called us, sobbing, to tell me her dad had been violent to her and thrown water at her. After a lot of talking, it came out that the ACTUAL story was that she had purged (she's bulimic as well) and left the bathroom a HUGE mess and the water was a wet sponge he had thrown at her when he told her she had to clean it up. Robin, you are an awesome aunt! Not only did you spent an hour talking with your niece due to stupid stuff she is pulling and trying to avoid the consequences for, you then helped put a bit of perspective on it by using humor. I bet there will be times in the future when she will be able to catch herself in similar behavior and stop with the weeny-ishness simply because this vid pops into her mind.

I hope she's ok. She looks like such a happy kid even though they have to hide her from circus folk -- guess being worshiped as a goddess by the neighbors balances that out.
