Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Trade the cat for a kid and you could have been Anna Leonowens.

Big time.

And I am here teaching small Siamese children. Some of whom are related to the king. And I do, being me, randomly break into song with alarming frequency.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Getting to know you
getting to know all about you
getting to like you
getting to hope you like me

Shit's all sorts of different now.

(Also? I R DUM. I didn't make the whole Then Siam = Now Thailand connection until the Anna Leonowens reference. It's like I've been looking at the whole country thinking, "Ben is Glory?")

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

This

senses a trend with ND... as his xmas costume had a lil "rudolph" lighting up his kilt.

Got me earwormed with You Light Up My Kilt. Damn you omnis!

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

One of our guidance counselors here has a doctorate and insists that she be addressed as Dr. whatsername. The kids are almost universally contemptuous of this. And I think the insisting is a bit much, but I do wish we could get the message through that there are different kinds of doctors, and that the title has to do with rigorous study rather than ability to use a stethoscope. I have a pretty deep admiration for anyone who's willing to put up with all the crap involved in getting that D.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Obsessing about words AND donating food to the starving, what could be better? [link]

Ann, that's a ferret.

Just saw Suzi's news. Congrats!

fred pete - do you know your philly schedule yet?

Sox, we bring him up on Monday, and we'll be staying in town overnight. We'd enjoy a F2F with Philadelphistas. Profile address is good.

We don't know when Teddy and the donor will be able to come home, but that'll be a day trip. We also plan to go up to visit them when we can, but any F2F opportunity there would most likely involve lunch near the University of Pennsylvania campus.

Thrive to spite them

I love my hockey team (Tampa Bay Lightning), I haven't met any of the players, but they all seem like good guys and a lot of them do great things for kids. And Vincent Lecavalier has a charitable foundation that just promised $3 million to the children's hospital in Tampa, there's going to be a Vincent Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center because of it. [link]

I wish this kind of thing got on the news more than the bad stuff profresional athletes do.

Plus his foundation gives the Children's hospital $1000 for every goal he scores and $300 for every assist.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Dear Universe:

I would like to STOP HATING EVERYTHING now, please, thanks. Things are not that bad and certainly do not warrant my internal death ray glare upon reality.
