Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I am submitting the same letter to the BBB, Attorney General of Michigan, and "Ruth to the Rescue" on channel 4 WDIV.

Without commenting on the merits of the matter, you might want to send your letter to the Customer Assistance Group at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency instead of the Attorney General of Michigan.

It's a quirk involving nationally chartered banks. And you probably don't want me to go into detail.

psst - Aimee... Angies' List? - they keep an open file until the situation's resolved.

over Thanksgiving

That's ridonkulous - plus, rather insensitive, given that the day before is a Very Important Day.

It is raining asshats today.

Suzi, that's fantastic news! Also, I need to e-mail you. I see you in a week! Craziness!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I love a lot of caffeinated drinks but after thinking about it for the hour since I've logged on to bitches I'm going to proclaim that Black Tea (ideally with a touch of milk and honey) and Mountain Dew are my two favorites.

I am sleep deprived on account of construction. I can't decide whether to try for more sleep or give in and have caffeine.

Thanks Suzi, I hadn't seen that. And yeah for good doctor news!

How do his comments match your experience there?

Let's see. We didn't have to wait at all (and we also had an 8:45 reservation) but I agree that the hostess was less than impressive. But I didn't notice any of the casualness that the reviewer talks about.

One of the best dishes on my two recent visits was the boneless quail. It looked like a fatted duck, its breast plumped with sweetbreads and spinach, beautifully served with alternating logs of young leeks, roasted parsnips and slices of foie gras complementing the lightly smoked apple-flavored veal jus.

This was what I had! Delicious. The only other food choice we had that was in the review was the "Fleurburger" dessert:

Desserts also had a slightly retro feel - we're talking the 1990s here - although I loved the sense of humor showed in the Fleurburger, a tongue-in-cheek reference to Keller's wildly popular gourmet burger bar in Las Vegas. The bun is a house-made beignet, the filling is dark chocolate ganache and the "frites" are frozen sticks of fennel ice cream. The plate also comes with a small cherry-flavored milk shake.

My friend didn't love it, although he thought the fennel ice cream fries were great.

This was at a previous church-like employer. Not the present one. The present one gives us the day before Thanksgiving off as a President's Holiday.

We just discovered that we don't have the Nebraska code books anymore. Oops.

Suzi, glad to hear your blood work was pretty. I think we can now agree that you are beautiful inside and out.

That's a wonderful policy - there should be more Presidents' Holidays everywhere - did they put this one in place upon your arrival? t /snerk

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I loves my coffee, but for the sake of my poor congested nose today I am drinking tea.

Thanks, Burrell! Oh, and did you see my comment to you about what things I learned by doing the annotated bibliography I was bitching so much about?

Ooops, sorry I missed it. I am a notorious skipper, especially if I haven't been around for a few days. So I guess the assignment went well for you?
