Or they could always just use a mug like this.
Sigh. Guys, I'm having a really hard time working tonight. I was so good this morning and tore through the first eight comments so that I could spend the afternoon and evening with my dad (which I did, btw, and it was awesome to see him), but now it's almost 10pm and I've only finished one more. I really need to do another eight before I can go to sleep tonight, and I don't quite know how that's going to happen.
The sugar crash probably isn't helping.
I would like to endorse the lime-eating vid. I can also vouch that Matilda possesses a tiny tongue and is very cute.
It was great to see SF Buffistas. And vw bug, which was a pleasant surprise. It was just a shame that everyone had to go back to work. (Well, except me. I got to check out a games store insgtead. Oh! Megan Walker! If you haven't tried it, a game you might like is Ticket to Ride. The 1910 expansion is well worth it too.)
Crisis averted: apparently they've found my missing luggage. I was getting pretty worried. Still waiting for it to arrive. Meanwhile, I've discovered that my hotel is in walking distance from an Outback Steakhouse (I should go over and taunt them. "That's not a piece of Aussie memorabilia, this is a piece of..."), a Quizno's, a Borders and a Trader Joe's! I reckon this location will work out very nicely.
Also slain by the cuteness of Matilda...
I wish I could just stay at this writers conference for another few days before having to go back and face reality.
Tonight some of the Regency writers had dinner at the British Pantry. I had Beef Wellington because I'd never had it before. One more experience checked off on the list, I guess, but I'm not feeling any urge to repeat it. But I also got to drink a pint of Strongbow, an experience I believe should be repeated whenever practical.
ya I feel kinda stupid. I thought o_a was short hand for a heart, and for the life of me couldn't figure it out. Duh!!
I hate this. Hate hate HATE.
I'm staring at this kid's folder and at the blinking curser on the screen and thinking, "I have nothing more to say."
Time to take a break and walk around the block?
I get the same way Kristin after a day of office hours, or too many hours of grading. I'd say take a break and go to bed.
After all, tomorrow is another day.
If i had ovaries, i have no doubt they would be hurting now, after those photos. Which, surprisingly enough, is the second time I've used the phrase today. (The first was in the kids section of Barnes and Noble, today. Spoken to Girl(friend).)
Thanks Laga and Burrell. Unfortunately, I'm on a really strict schedule this weekend. I wrote 8 comments on Thursday, 21 on Friday, and had to finish 17 today to make sure I have time to do the final 16 tomorrow. After I finish the last one I still have to proofread the lot of 'em and then cut/paste them into the grading program.
But I have one left. ONE. Mu-wah-hah-hah.
