Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Okay, that wasn't helpful. What are you drying?
Thyme, oregano, and sage, all from Nora's garden. We've used a good amount of them, but there is still some left, and it seems a shame to waste it, so I figured I would give this a try.
I haven't tried it sj, but I'll bet the house will smell great.
It does, as do my hands after arranging everything on the baking sheets.
I do it. Lowest setting you can manage (200?), check frequently (every 5-10 minutes) - it's easy to burn them. Goes faster than you think. Spread them thinly on a baking sheet.
I have the oven on 180, and the internet said it can take 2-3 hours, is that wrong? How do I know when they're done?
Oo, drying herbs must smell wonderful. I have some cilantro and basil that have become too withered to eat...maybe I should do the same. How do you store them afterwards?
JZ, your stories make me want to teleport to SF to hang out with you all and spoil Matilda rotten. We do have a couple of great tea houses up here, though, and you're making me really crave them.
In cute news, I've typed all of this flopped in bed with a purring black kitten curled up on my chest. He keeps feeling the need to readjust so that he's as close as possible to my neck and face. He's getting so big that this trick isn't going to work too much longer, though. As it is, he barely fits. He is going to be a big, lanky cat. Such a friendly little love, though. He loves the peoples.
How do you store them afterwards?
The internet said an airtight container, but I'm going for ziploc bags.
The thyme and the oregano seem to be done, but the sage leaves are huge, so I am going to give them a little longer to dry.
How did I just spend a brazillino dollars stocking up my new kitchen, and there is nothing for breakfast? Sigh.
Guess that means I have to go check out the doughnut store a few blocks away.
It would help if I got out of bed and showered and dressed, though. Hrm.
Yay, wireless?
Lunch with billytea!
billytea is in the states!!??
This is what I get for being so dark lately.
Better yet, Billytea will be staying in the house of Design next Saturday.
Okay, I know what I'm doing next Saturday.
....when I'm not working the show, that is.

Just one night?
:: raises fist at FUBAR tech schedule that is SCR ::
Trying to work on the house today since it shows the signs of massive neglect from working all the time. Really bad.
That is my intention as well
Laura is me. except that I'm going to a rugby game and pretending that my house isn't a freaking disaster.
Ha! This is me, sans Rugby. Tho tonight I'm going to the Burlesque show. I didn't do a lot of audio edits for this show, but still comp'd, so FUN!

Ooh, that's awesome, Omnis!
I'm ....hoping to hear about some Seattle billytea fun, so *I* can avoid the mess that is my house? Tonight I'm going to a party.
And I just checked out the doughnut store two blocks away. Expensive, but mmmmmmm, they make them there and they're delicious.
