Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

What grade does she teach?

10th grade advanced language. She's a ball of fire. I'm very fond of her. Most of the team updates on line once a week. The teachers with lots of assignments (like math) update more often. We see the grades any time the teachers post to the school system. Brendon has no clue what a great team of teachers he has. The teachers and the school are most impressive, as are the ratings. Being a minimalist he doesn't appreciate them, but I expect he will when he looks back at it from an adult perspective.

eta: I hope you get a chance to have a nice visit with your dad.

Ah, the online grading thing. I know that must be great from a parent perspective, but I am endlessly glad that my kids' parents can't see their grades as we go. The problem in English is that the grades are really inflated for the first 4-6 weeks until their first big paper is entered, and I've had parents freak out about the "huge drop" in their child's grade once that happens, when really the grade is finally accurate. On the other side, I've had parents freak out because it looks like a kid is failing when s/he is missing an early assignment--when in truth it's just a matter of having very few grades at that point.

If all of my parents were reasonable like you, it would be fine. Alas, that is often not the case. Competition seems to be the norm, and parents the worse culprits most of the time.

Anyway, I'm very glad that Brandon has such great teachers. He'll appreciate them someday.

Not sure if I'm going to see Dad. He called to say that he had finally gotten into the terminal--way late because of a hydraulic problem with the plan after it landed--and now he says that the volunteers don't even know where they're staying tonight. He said if he's settled before 10, he'll call me. I'm not holding my breath, but I am hopeful. I've barely seen him in the last two years.

Poor meara! You're going to meet tons of people in no time, though, I'm certain of it.

Looks like no Dad for me tonight. We're going to try to get together tomorrow evening.

ETA: I forgot to say a couple of things earlier...

I think the worst smoke day was last Tuesday.
Sean, I agree up in this area, but the Westside was definitely at its worse on Thursday. I could barely breathe.

Miracleborns at Rocky Horror again! Yay! Even if it is via minivan, I'm so happy you're getting a chance to go. Do the Time Warp once for me!

The thread is dead.

Dead is the thread.

How can I procrastinate if you're doing something else instead?

I've eaten all my pizza and the kitties have been fed,

I've comments left to do, though I want to be in bed.

I'm writing stupid "poems"--someone save me from my head!

But it's dead, this thread.

All my Bitches have fled.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm here!

It's wild rice and arborio rice with jalapenos and soy sauce.

No I haven't been to the grocery store lately, why do you ask?

Art Crawl!!!

Sounds good to me.

And, before you ask, I haven't been to the grocery store in a while either.
