I still have my crown, and yes, we got Sean a Jester cap. They were purchased at Hollywood Toy and Costume on our way to Frederick's of Hollywood.
Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
man. I missed a fun party.
Now I understand why my mom made fish sticks and tator tots so often.
Amen, sister.
I missed a fun party.
Yes. Yes, you did.
Coffee at work is free. Coffee at home is good. I start with good, and finish up with free. I love the taste, but need the effect more than the flavor.
I am Plei. At least, regarding coffee. I don't think I have a Squeak hiding around here anywhere. And *no one* has those gorgeous/slightly creepy/hypnotic eyes.
Soda water tastes like water with bubbles, pretty much.
Fizzy water! I'm addicted. It makes it much easier for me to get adequately hydrated every day, because flat water doesn't make me want to drink it (except during exercise -- anything fizzy during exercise is not a good thing for me; dunno why).
Steph and I are the same wrt water. Regular water is just so boring - unless I'm sweating. But my midwife told me I need to drink more water (not surprising - I hate drinking water and then peeing all the time) so I'm trying to force myself to drink more liquids.
I missed a fun party.
You did! But, gosh, it was a while ago now - what, four years ago? Five? I was still living in England at the time, whereas for the SF2F I flew out from Cairo - man, that was a fun time too.
...er, where and when's the next F2F, then? Not that I'm likely to be free, because it's not usually in the holidays, is it? But still...good times. Good times.
Meanwhile - soda does indeed taste like water with bubbles. It IS the pause that refreshes, whereas Coke is pretty much the pause that makes you thirsty (if you're me). Since one is generally used to associating bubbles with intense sweetness, soda can be a bit of a shock to the system - certainly I hated it the first time I had it, because my mum told me it was like lemonade, and so I was expecting sweetness. No sweetness.
Soda water - it's water, but sexier! In fact I'm lying here drinking Singha brand soda water from a large Andy Warhol-style Stitch mug RIGHT NOW, and it's fucking great! (But I don't have a rubber glove on my head.)
{{Beverly}} I'm so, so, sorry. May you find a place for your mother that she is happy in, where whe is well taken care of, and where you are comfortable having her there. Hopefully, in the grand scheme of things, this works out, in a way, for the best. Love to you and your family.
In Dinner News, we had signed up for 2 chickens that our farm was raising. Tom picked them up yesterday- they are HUGE! 8 pounds each! Jebus. We roasted one and it was quite turkey-like in its mass and carvability. Tom cut the second bird up in parts to freeze and I think we'll use them for more wet-cooking methods. Cannot fry these chicken parts. (unfortunately)
The only problem with coffee (which I do love) is making sure you get GOOD coffee.
I love good coffee. I'll drink any coffee.
I loves the bubbles too. I drink way too much of the Le Croix sparking water in cans, which is really too pricey unless I make an expedition to Costco.
My neighbor his been using a leaf blower for an hour. Kill me now.

Oh, crumbs, Beverly. All my -ma are belong to you, love.

For a moment, I pictured Tom picking up 2 live chickens.

I'll drink gas-station coffee that's been sitting on the burner for 24 hours, if that's my only choice.

Fortunately, Kroger has Big K 2-Liter bottles of fizzy water for 60 cents. I buy many, many, many of them.
