As I recall, Martha isn't sure who Castle's dad is, there was more than one candidate at the time, and no one stepped up to say, "I think he's mine." And I think Martha was too independent to really care.

This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
Castle works best when the ensemble is playing off each other, and this was Rick Solo.
And PMM successfully explains just why I wasn't so impressed. I wasn't even sure myself, so thanks!!
Yeah and I feel like they put themsevles in a hole with the CIA episode so they had to do something with Castle's dad.
So big two parter! The first half was better than the second half.
Yes - what Una and PMM said. It just felt off.
I love Chi McBride, but Golden Boy is going to suck, isn't it? In 9 minutes, I already hate the Golden Boy.
I love ChiMcBride, but I knew that I couldn't handle it. Plus, it's up against White Collar, Justified and Body of Proof. I'm not willing to do the Tivo machinations for it.
Ginger,
yes. I am avoiding that show like the plague. However, I am all over "Red Widow." So there is no accounting for taste.
Although I liked Beckett getting bad ass with the dead guy's girl friend.
That was pretty awesome. As was the sound during the bit with the mole man.
The escape was kind of cool, but yeah, the ensemble or at least the duos are what make the show work best.
I'm not actually that good with torture and threats of torture as a means for the good guys extracting information. Makes me kind of wince and takes me out of the story. Even more with Castle as torturer in Part I. Even though overall I was good, and II was meh.
So Will and I are finally almost caught up on Castle. We watched last season's finale.
A couple of things - 1 I want ring Esposito's neck! If Ryan hadn't told Gates Beckett would have been dead!
2 - in the end when Beckett goes to Castle and finally declares she loves him, she calls him Castle.
And Will's observation "What? Was she on the other side of the door when she called?" There wasn't a lot of time between the call and her knock so I'm not sure exactly where she was supposed to be.
