I would drop Elementary before H50, but neither has a strong seasonal arc if you wanted to just start watching in 2013 and skip the fall half-season IMO.

I can't say much re. H50 since I haven't watched it after the first season, but I really like Elementary. The cases are generally pedestrian, but the writers are doing some lovely character work when it comes to building the relationship between Holmes and Watson.

I don't watch H5O, but I enjoy Elementary. It reminds me of Person of Interest in that it doesn't really tax the viewer and can be enjoyed for character interactions. They are different shows, so if Elementary is more your thing, go forth.

Choosing between Hawaii Five-O and Elementary is difficult for me because I find them both sort of skipable but enjoyable enough to watch. I think H50 has had more of an arc this season, so if you wanted to skip a bunch of episodes of one of them, I would probably say Elementary.

I have been watching H50 this season, and have seen occasional episodes of Elementary. I think that it would be easier to get back into Elementary because there doesn't seem to be much of an arc, whereas there are a few things this season in H50 that you need to know.

We missed Elementary this week because Thursday Night Football (that's a real thing? apparently, yes) pre-empted it in Cincy because the Bengals were playing. And, since we don't have a DVR, we couldn't record it whenever it was moved to. (We also missed Big Bang Theory.) I can't decide if I want to buy them from iTunes or just wait until re-runs.

It was a particularly good one, and seasonally appropriate!
Elementary was fine, but maybe could wait til it reruns sometime.BTW, I find it odd that this Watson is a more compelling character than this Holmes. Not bad, but, well, it is taking some getting used to.
