The bigger question I have is "wouldn't a doctor know of a less complicated and error-prone method of making it look like she died of a heart attack or other natural causes?" They don't generally perform autopsies on attended deaths.

This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
It's just a really unbelievable writing choice for an addiction for a medical resident
I may be revealing too much about family and friends to say--it's definitely not unbelievable. Maybe it's unlikely, but it's not unbelievable.
Unsuspensionofdisbelievable, then. For me. Your Family and Friends in Medicine May Vary, naturally.
(And, of course, what's available readily varies by country, so my expectations of what, other than alcohol, would be likely is influenced by that.)
I am talking about Americans, FTR.
I am talking about Americans, FTR.
Huh. (I know that some of the things easily obtained in the US aren't in Canada, and vice versa, and that some of my pop-like-candy meds are hard to get in the UK.)
I don't think any of the Jamaican doctors I know would be bothered to get addicted to anything requiring a prescription. Weed is so easy to get all you do is walk down the street and ask the first person with good dreads, and you might not need to pay him. Uh, don't tell anyone I said that. None of them are substance abusers.
American doctors--I know some with some pressing self-medication requirements and an interesting plethora of approaches to said issues. Amazing lack of anti-depressants too.
Okay--I just watched H5-O this week, and not only was the A-plot hysterical in the broad cartoony strokes of the whole thing (is it twist time yet? how many twist options do we have? okey dokey, then...) but they committed 150%, so that was good.
However, I'm sure lots of devoted shippers will be cropping the right side out of that final frame.
I was honestly thinking UK not Jamaica (but my Jamaican Citizen Medical Person Sample Set is exactly one, and I don't think she even drinks alcohol). Most of the US doctors I know are fond, shall we say, of their prescription sleep aids.
Is H5-O worth watching? I need more ridiculous shows.
H5-O is markedly ridiculous. But they're all in--this week was a satanic grandmother/grandson pair sacrificing to the devil goat with boobies (I tuned out the infodump from the "I'm not evil!" alterna-black-dressed-silver-pierced resource).
And Masi Oka was dressed as Bill. Or Ted. I'm always confused about which one was played by Keanu and which one was the bubble-haired blond.
I wouldn't call it clever or funny, but they work their slash/bromance contingent respectfully and respectably, and it's a job opportunity for any non-white non-black aspiring actor (tho they will never get a love scene).
ita ! I agree that it was completely ridiculous, but I love the actress that played the grandmother and she did succeed in being completely creepy.
I love the "startles" where you find out the old woman is evil (she had passed my "is she real given current tech" test) but that was early on, so there must be more coming....splitting the rest--having her kil that opportune cop, before swallowing her own bullet--and then instead of running for the hills, the browbeaten kid goes balls to the walls satanic crazy to finish what he stated--tho, I realise, I missed the bit where they actually explain what bonus p;lastic toy (choking optiona) you get wit their instrecttiom--where are these errors coming up, and is there a way to handle theese earlier amndnd
