Procedurals 1: Anything You Say Can and Will Be Used Against You.
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
Excellent - thank you, Ginger.
Bones:
Angela wants to keep Hodgin's hands clean, so she asks him to place a flower message for her? In what world does that makes sense?
Is no one going to say to Bones maybe you should have left Christine safely with Booth?
There are not security cameras in the Jeffersonian that would catch Bones showing up and tampering with evidence?
Is the other FBI agent taking the flower out of the garbage significant? Is he working with Pollant?
Why am I still watching this show?
Is "Perception' one of these? Sometimes I think so, although it's a better show when it's more emotional and less crime-solving...cable drama?
erika, I think that show is being discussed in Cable Drama. I have the whole season on the DVR, and I'm still trying to decide if I want to watch it.
I like it, but mostly, I think it's the acting more than the writing, although there is one where a woman ends up mentally stuck in the eighties that killed me. The season-ender was pretty good too, although you wouldn't start there, obviously.
I have seen 3-4 eps of Perception and I don't like it. I watched it because there was nothing else on, but I think I'd rather watch old eps of L&O or Columbo to Perception,

I did! I said it!

Yes!
Is he working with Pollant?
No! (Based on nothing other than the fact that I like Reed Diamond and would like to see him play a character that's not a S.O.B for a change. I live in hope).
Why am I still watching this show?
I still love it...but I'm starting to wonder why...
And I really enjoy Perception. It takes a (good) bit of handwavium at times, but I really like Eric McCormick in this part. (Plus there's a Cary Elwes episode! What could be wrong with that?) And erika's right about the strength of the season-ender, good stuff.

I meant a character on the show.
No! (Based on nothing other than the fact that I like Reed Diamond and would like to see him play a character that's not a S.O.B for a change. I live in hope).
Ha! Yeah, that would be nice. What other motive could he have for taking the flower out of the trash?
I think if he wasn't so good, I wouldn't like it, despite being up to my eyeballs in the defective-detective trope. Because the procedure takes much more handwavium when you are a David Simon fan. One day, I will get a cramp. But it does work emotionally, imo. As a writer, I have occasionally met people and felt like I knew them because I have characters like them. That might be a tiny bit like Daniel in that episode.
