"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

That episode synopsis was off a little:

Beckett soon learns that Lockwood's next target is none other than Captain Montgomery (Ruben Santiago-Hudson), who was the third cop involved in the kidnapping of a mob boss that ultimately led to Beckett's mother's murder.

Beckett was the target because Montgomery couldn't get her to back down, right? The Captain was only a target if he didn't get Beckett to the hanger.

Also, I made the mistake of looking at the comments and stumbled on the horrible portmanteau Caskett for Castle/Beckett. Yeesh.

Art Crawl!!!

Yuck.

Also: I am so sad about Montgomery. He was such a good part of the crew. I wonder what the new captain will be like.

“Not dead yet!”

Andrew Marlowe talks about the finale and pacing of next year.

So it does sound as if Castle will be the recipient of the files/package.

Or I could be wrong.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

this is so bad, it made me laugh.

“Not dead yet!”

I was just going to ignore the portmanteau. Because if I ignore it, it doesn't exist, right?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Portmanteau made me laugh.

Apparently last night was Betrayal Night in the Finale Sweepstakes. Not just Castle, but H50 as well. I'm pissed because I really liked the governor. I'm also pissed at the inconsistencies in the plot last night, but Alex O'Loughlin is still very pretty and the character is an emotionally damaged cop -- my kryptonite.

Art Crawl!!!

I really liked the governor too - and the whole thing stopped making sense a while back.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I think you're right Barb.

I first heard that portmanteau so long ago that it doesn't even phase me anymore. Not that I would ever use it.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh, and can I just have a moment here for the Boys? They damn near broke me last night, especially with Ryan refusing to back down after Esposito hit him (oh, how I adore that tough little Irish Catholic man) and then with the single tear running down his cheek after Beckett said that no one outside their immediate family ever needed to know what had happened. And that she called them a family.

I was made of flailyhands last night, I swear.

Thrive to spite them

I just watched Castle - oh man it was gut wrenching. Especially after the last episode with the Capt talking about retiring and Beckett calling him the Brett Farve of the precient. And the fight between Esposito and Ryan.

One thing I really liked was the look on Beckett's face when she told the Capt she wanted Castle gone and he said yes. She was startled but trying to cover it, like she didn't know the Capt would ever say yes.
