Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

It was extra funny to me because in my Irish (dance) class earlier that night the teacher was announcing that one of the musicians is hosting a Samhain party this weekend, but before he would say it, he called over our Irish (language) teacher to verify pronunciation.

And also because it made me think of the drama that the demon "Sam-Hane" caused on the Supernatural thread. Hee.

“Not dead yet!”

I let Samhain go because I was too busy cringing at his pronunciation of "theatre." God love him, that's where he reveals his Nevada roots the most, in that one word.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I loved that he mispronounced Samhain, but used the British pronunciation of amateur.

I've heard him say that word that way in other episodes--it's really obvious, isn't it?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

What, no one criticizing Reid's pronunciation of "Samhain"? It's like I don't even know you.

I survived Supernatural, I can survive this.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

There was talk in the Supernatural thread of having a Bobby/Rufus show ... Monday evening it struck me that I'd like to see a Bobby/Rufus crossover with Castle - either Castle himself or Ryan and Esposito. Wouldn't that be fun?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

his pronunciation of "theatre."

no shit. I actually think I missed the next 2-3 minutes of dialogue because I was so distracted he said: thi-ate-er

Heh-- whenever I hear that pronunciation, I always flash back to my theatre professor in college scolding us that it was not ever to be pronounced that way. Ever.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

What, no one criticizing Reid's pronunciation of "Samhain"? It's like I don't even know you.

My friend Katie and I both yelled at him, and then had to explain to our friend Melissa how it was pronounced, which led to a brief discussion of Irish, which led to missing most of the rest of that scene. I didn't even hear him say "theater".

Shibboleth!
