Thanks, I will wait, then. I knew I could count on y'all to advise me.
Procedurals 1: Anything You Say Can and Will Be Used Against You.
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
Oh, we are all about the enabling here.
Oh, hell yes.
And to complicate things further, A&E has added a third night of CM. Now you can watch episodes out of order on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Tonight is the first Tuesday, and shockingly, they started with "Extreme Aggressor" and continued in sequence through 1.4.
Baby!Hotch is so adorable. I think he smiled more in the series premiere than he has in the subsequent (almost) 5 seasons combined.
It's so sad to see him so happy.
Something jumped out at me in the premiere. Gideon is the Unit Chief, even after the Adrian Bale incident. When did Hotch take over? I don't think it was ever expressly made clear.
There was a nice use of the soon-to-be theme music during the profile briefing. Nicely creepy.
Elle's meltdown towards Hotch in "The Aftermath" pushes her right into shrieking harridan territory. That is the moment a character I simply disliked became one I loathed.
Maria and I are as one on this.
I still get weirded out seeing Morgan with hair in these early episodes.
And messy facial hair, not the neatly trimmed goatee.
I like seeing Reid's haircut, combined with his glasses, in the beginning of S2 after Fisher King Part 2. For some reason, those big glasses really framed his face well and gave him added sexy geek points. We haven't seen him in glasses in a while, have we? I'm trying to remember if they've made an appearance after S2 or S3.
Now that I've got all four seasons on dvd (thank you, Amazon!), I spent tonight watching several eps with commentary from S1 and 2. The best one is Revelations (helps when you have MGG as one of the commentators), followed by Bernero and his daughter (who played Rebecca Bryant as well as having been the show's main researcher since the beginning) who are entertaining in their own right on Fisher King Part 2.
Speaking of the Fisher King, the commentary on Part 2 from the S2 dvds amused me when Bernero said that they (the show runners and writers) figured that setting up all the clues from S1 would keep the fans occupied until the show started up again in September. Then they were floored when the online fandom had figured everything out within a week of Part 1's broadcast. He said never underestimated the ability of the fandom to figure things out again.
Nothing keeps the fans occupied except for unanswerable questions. Silly rabbit.
The cast and crew are pretty good to fandom. The Criminal Minds Fanatic blog gets plenty of official interaction, plus most of the cast tweets regularly. Bless.
Wow, there are some really great guest stars in season 4 - Luke Perry, Jason Alexander, Mitch Pileggi, Gina Torres.
I haven't seen the Wil Wheaton one yet, but I was totally convinced that he was Viper (the sleazy guy who taught guys to pick up women) in 52 Pickup.
I just watched Normal and that one broke me. Season 4 is kicking some serious ass so far!
Hah! I was just on Netflix and looked up CM season 5 and they recommended it to me "based on your interest in The Big Bang Theory: Season 2 and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" Um.... okay.
