This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think someone mentioned this during Leverage the other night, but between these two shows I'm starting to feel the lack of a quotables thread.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

House was sort of boring tonight. I was expecting it to be more interesting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do what I do, Brenda, and just quote out of context in the middle of Natter posts.

I have no books about elephants.

After Castle finished, I just said, "They're soooo cute together!" Beckett and Castle are absolutely my favorite couple-not-yet-together on tv right now. Ryan made me giggle with his comment of "Do they even know they're finishing each other's sentences?"

I loved Esposito's shoutout to Snakes on a Plane, Alexis's disgust with the women (and girls) at her school fawning over her father, and the squatter Mickey was yet another great casting choice for a one-shot character.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ryan made me giggle with his comment of "Do they even know they're finishing each other's sentences?"

That made me laugh and laugh.

At the end, when they were walking to the elevator arm-in-arm, she was twirling her hair just like she did when she was talking to the fireman. Love it!

ETA: Someone over at TWOP caught that Bachelor #8 on the list was Andrew Marlowe, the really rich guy from earlier this season. Nice continuity, writers.

brillig

The other two detectives are brilliant. Competent cops, witty in their own right, and they like Castle. And I like the Captain. And the Alexis/Castle relationship is wonderful. She's worried about who will look after her dad after she's in college! She knows he needs someone to look after him. And when she needs help, he drops everything to go. I can't say how refreshing it is to have a family relationship on a show that isn't fraught with drama--other than what his diva mother brings.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

And when she needs help, he drops everything to go.

I think that ep is when I really fell in love with the show. When he picked up Alexis and her friend, no questions asked, but then insisted that he call her parents, I loved it.
