I can't lie. I'm in it for the Hodgins.
Procedurals 1: Anything You Say Can and Will Be Used Against You.
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
I'm enjoying the lab assistant of the week thing. The scruffy guy who got it on with the scary woman from the fantasy auction is a great deal of fun, as was Hodgins saying "He's kind of my hero."
Baseball tonight. Looks like I don't have to worry about getting home in time for Bones.
And is NCIS pre-empted next week? They didn't show previews.
I agree with all the characterization issues you guys raised about Brennan (in fact, in another time I've raised similar points myself and was shouted down with "oh no, I know highly cerebral people my ownself and they're just like that" so I just rolled my eyes quietly to myself.) Yet I still enjoy the show, despite the uneveness.
Something I'd like to see explained a little more is the relationship between Angela and Brennan. They've both referred to one another as their best friend but I have a difficult time picturing how that would come to be and then be sustained over a long period of time. Because it seems so one-sided on Angela's part.
I think Brennan doesn't have a large experience of female friends and Angela sees Brennan as a project of sorts. Like they met ten years ago and Angela swore she'd get Brennan to loosen up and Brennan is a combination of oblivious and amused.
I don't even get amusement from Brennan.
Sweeps is coming up, so next week isn't new for what looks like a bunch of shows. And tonight.

It's a repeat next week.
I remember fondly the days when the second half of the season was the repeats, because then I had a chance to catch up on things. Now they expect me to keep informed about the schedule and all that.
Watching Monday's Lie to Me. With that haircut, Garrett Dillahunt looks strangely like Peter Krause. But it looks good on him.
Thanks, everyone, for the thoughts on "Bones." Good to know it's not just me. Although I'm a mystery novel fan, I've never read anything by Kathy Reichs (?), so can't compare to the books.
