Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

George Clooney is back on ER tonight.

Yeah, the biggest non-secret. I enjoyed the ep but was taken aback by a stupid detail.

So. There are Clooney and Margolies, in bed, happy, the one thing ER fans so desperately wanted back in the day and, what do I notice? Margolies is SLEEPING IN HOOP EARRINGS. How dumb is that? It just completely bugged.

My brain clearly needs some exercise.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I sleep in earrings, even hoop ones, all the time. It has led to some painful moments, but I am just lazy that way.

Wow. I'm impressed by anyone who can sleep without the rigors I require. The very thought of wearing jewelry to bed gives me pain.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I used to sleep in a watch, when I wore a watch. And a bangle bracelet that never came off. Closed hoop earrings. And I still do sleep in my wedding rings and a necklace. I understand how such things can bother some people, but for a lot of people it's just what you're used to. I unconsciously rub my wedding rings with the sides of my pinky and gigging fingers--if the rings aren't there, I'm in slight panic mode till I find them and they're restored. I used to play with the bangle unconsciously, too, and missed it when I didn't wear it.

But then I'm a super-fast addictive personality, so, there's that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Was this the first time Criminal Minds had a solo female serial?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't, but I don't have any cites.

Actually, I do--the New Orleans killer who was killing men who propositioned her, reliving her rape ordeal. So at least one.

eta: Also the one where Reid gets hit on by that actress.

About this week's CM--what was up, you think, about Emily's remaining friend challenging the priest in Italian, and her nosebleed? Strange muddying of the waters.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I have a bunch of ear piercings and I can sleep with earrings in all but the lowest ones. And I have to take off my watch but not my necklace. I don't wear any rings these days, but I'd guess if I did, that I would take those off too.

Is it nap time yet?

Aren't you guys worried about bending your earrings?

I have two small hoops I never remove in my cartilage piercings, but they are sturdier than my average pairs.

I'm thinking I'm very much the princess with the pea. Super-total fussy about sleep routines. Even makeup bothers me.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Criminal Minds was kind of odd ... they seemed to be trying to pull a "well, no, demons don't exist ... but what if?" kind of thing.

Bones was interesting. And they showed some outtakes, one of which proved that there's a limit on just how trained a monkey can be.

I routinely take out my earrings when I get home from work, but I've fallen asleep with my watch on. Otherwise, I prefer to take it off.
