Procedurals 1: Anything You Say Can and Will Be Used Against You.
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
I take back every disparaging thought I had about adding Kitty to Elementary. Damn, that was good. I have ALL THE FEELS. Jonny Lee Miller just blows me away. And Ophelia Lovibond was fantastic.
I fucking FELL ASLEEP fifteen minutes in. Fell. Asleep. I am so disgusted with myself.
Seriously, possibly the best episode this show has done. I think it's available at CBS's website.
I need to talk about it SO BAD.
Oh, it is! I'm going to watch as soon as humanly possible.
Woo!
The Mentalist could have ended this week, right there.

Yes. I was pleased with the way they're drawing things together to end them.
Then the preview that someone's not going to survive next week kinda ticked me off. Why should someone have to die, this close to the end? Seems stupidly sensationalistic, and a good way to alienate whichever of us are hanging on to the end.
Steph, definitely VERY impressed with Kitty last night.
Elementary: What a satisfying story arc for Kitty. She was great, yes. As I was watching the goodbye phone call, I was thinking... are they going to do a spinoff?
Couple of great lines, my favorite of which was "Welcome to the club," after he was telling Joan she wasn't the first person to be taken in by a brilliant psychopath.
I figured she wouldn't end up killing him, but I was kind of surprised they actually went there with the disfiguring. Though, they kind of foreshadowed that she was the "Oh, yes, I'll go there," person with the beatdown on that other guy's sister.
That final flashback, oh, my, with the crying. And then the relief.
ETA: And I want to try that rubber band/door chain trick.
I think the disfigurement was a nod to Kitty Winter's storyline in The Adventure of the Illustrious Client. In that story, Kitty Winter was abused by the evil baron, tried to convince another woman of his evilness, and ended up throwing vitrol in his face. [link]
