You know, if I'm going to trace my first procedural, I'd have to go with Hardy Boys, Matlock, Quincy, and Murder She Wrote. I also loved the Mystery Movie of the Week (McMillan & Wife, etc.)
Procedurals 1: Anything You Say Can and Will Be Used Against You.
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
Marshall Sam McCloud and Columbo.
There was another one with George Peppard...
Banacek.
And the one with William Conrad, Cannon? My folks liked that one a lot.

I loved the Perry Mason movies! My dad and I used to watch them together.
Conrad was also in the first Nero Wolfe series, with Lee Horsley as Archie. And Horsley had his own series later. Tim Hutton played Archie in the second Wolfe series, and Jim Hutton played Ellery Queen.
Well, for heaven's sake! How could we forget the original PM???? Yeah, it was reruns when I was watching, but it's like the grandaddy of them all, that every courtroom drama, inlcuding all the L&O's are based on.
And Horsley had his own series later.
Matt Houston!!!
Tim Hutton played Archie in the second Wolfe series
I was surprised to find out that he had also directed many of the shows.
Hamilton Berger was no Jack McCoy.
My mom watched PM all the time in the sixties. I never really watched until the movies came out.
