Saw an old Mentalist where Jane solved the mystery because he knows that *nobody* likes beef barley soup (other than someone who was deprived as a child and has deep food issues). This show really is big on the writers validating their personal quirks and preferences as universal truths ...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm going to go ahead and assume that this means that Joan Watson flays all of her enemies with a katana.

I am going to be so disappointed if this doesn't happen.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Now that idea is in my head, I too will be very disappointed.

Wow. Beef barley soup is one of my faves, and yep (looks at belly) no underfeeding issues here. Beef barley soup is a comfort food for me, because that was one of the soups my mom made for me when I was sick.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I just had Beef Barley soup at the cafeteria. I can't be the only eater, or they would cease serving it.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Beef barley is delist, and I grew up with a wonderful cook of a mother who never forced us to eat things we didn't like (which was rare).

An UnAmerican detective series (which has been broadcast in the USA) had a scene with the lead character contemplating a snowy landscape with a pistol in his mouth. Spoiler: the star character of the series chose not to kill himself. Also, to perpetuate a stereotype, the show was indeed Swedish.
