"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The Castle people need to get the people from Chuck to do their dramatic two-parters.

Not sure I get that. No, in fact, I really don't get that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Mentalist did a good two-parter episode break.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Chuck had two-parter that included the death of his girlfriend's ex; a wedding in which Chuck and Sarah defend themselves with wedding gifts until commandos parachute through the glass ceiling; Chuck receiving a new intercept that gives him things like fighting skills; Chuck losing and regaining his girlfriend; an assassin disguised as a mariachi band member; and Jeffster.

Castle's very big episodes are heavy on faux drama (Show not called "Grieving Friends and Family of Castle") and light on banter.

I liked Castle when it was almost a satire of cop shows, focused on quirky characters and bizarre crimes and the brilliant character interactions. Then it became the Tragedy of Beckett's Mother and Will Those Crazy Kids Get Together? I'd really like to see a male/female buddy cop show, not a romantic entanglement show.

Castle has no business being that involved in down and dirty police work. Serious but froofy cases, yes, terrorism no.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hey, Castle lives! Imagine that!

Castle can do the heavy drama well on occasion, but the show is strongest with the lighter stuff. I look forward to more of Ryan and Esposito next week.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The Blacklist: this show has quite a fucking budget. Isabella Rosselini and they paid for music clearance for the Rolling Stones. WOW.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Bones - still the worst show airing at 8 pm (or 9 pm DVR watch) to have dinner while watching. Yuck.

Wasn't even eating and had to cover my eyes during that one scene. Blech! ::shudder::

I think the Bones effects crew has a competition going.
