Agreed on all the above.
Certainly not a comedy. If I have thoughts on further episodes, I'll put them in Natter.

So I just realized, Max & Mo's restaurant is pretty much a slight updating of the restaurant that "the gang" tried to fix and drove out of business on Seinfeld
Finally watched the episode. I thought it was more amusing than some this season. It could be because the boss reminds me a lot of an old boss of mine. I was disappointed that there wasn't a big finale number with the whole group when Simon gave his news conference. I saw all the people and was excited for a big ensemble dance number. I like the characters, but mostly I am there for the song and dance!
I want to restaurant to get going because I feel it has lots of potential for stories, and lots of room for choreography.
Because I'm always behind when it comes to watching stuff, I started watching Schitt's Creek last week. My 100% shallow comment is: Eugene Levy can still GET IT.
I said what I said.
That's fair
Checks out.
Steph, I just started watching it a couple of weeks ago. Your statement is valid.
I'm on Season 2 now.
I started season 2 last night! I'm maybe 6 episodes in.
I started watching Schitt's Creek last week.
I decided to give it a go over the weekend, but didn't get through the first episode. I normally have an exception for pilot episodes and try and watch 2-3 before passing judgement, but I just couldn't get into it. Figured maybe it was just my mood and would give it another go.
Pros/Cons - what should I stick around for?
I liked Schitt's Creek pretty much from the start, although the first 6 episodes or so are really broad in terms of characterization. They start to get more nuanced after that.
Though, full disclosure, Moira has never stopped annoying me, and if I could launch Roland into the sun, I would. But I love Stevie and Alexis and David and John so goddamn much that it's worth it. Oh, also the vet (Ted?).
