Catching up on my back eps of ZEP, just literally startled myself by absolutely SOBBING when Zoe sang "How Do I Live Without You" to her dad. My mom's been gone for over 2 and a half years now, but I guess there really is no expiration date on grief. Not to bring down the mood of the thread, I just felt the need to share somewhere. Still love the show...maybe just won't rewatch that ep anytime soon.

I'm surprised I'm still watching the show, the stuff with her dad is so hard for me to get through. So I hear you.
ZEP stopped being a comedy pretty quickly.
I ... struggle to like Max.
I used to like Max more, he's irritatingly Nice Guy (TM) lately, but I enjoyed him being shown to manage his team effectively (aside, I suppose, from the mole) so I'm sad for him losing that. But I'm not looking to forgive him for taking Zoey literally saying "I will miss you but I don't want to stand in the way of something you want" as not fighting to keep him. Jackass.
Much less his whole absurd flash mob overbearing love confession! If he had been anything other than selfish as hell, it wouod have been thoroughly obvious how wrong an approach that is for Zoey, supposedly his best friend.
Oh, I forgot about that! That she couldn't tell whether it was actually happening or not was hilarious, though
ha, well, to a point, for me -- it pretty quickly got too cringey for me! Same with the episode where Zooey started randomly bursting into song -- I fastforwarded through 80% of that ep 'cause it hit my humiliation thing.
True, once it was clearly actually happening and kept happening it was very cringe-y. I spend a lot of the show kind of wanting to crawl inside the couch to hide, but then there are these lovely honest moments that I'm glad to get. I hope there are more of the latter and less of the former as it goes on...
There is a lot of cringe and pain, but I am still enjoying it quite a lot. I like the characters for the most part, and love the choreography and sets. But Comedy, as per the title of this thread, man there haven't been a lot of laughs.
