I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Y'all. The Good Place podcast this week discusses Headcanon.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Poor Blake Bortles! [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And Bortles has become a consistent joke in the Mike Schur show, mostly because of how bad he and the Jaguars have been.

I disagree with the author! I'm sure it's mostly because of his name.

Experts are discussing whether he's maybe actually good!

ETA I think it's a combination of the name and the happy coincidence that he plays for Jacksonville. It would not be nearly as funny if the Jaguar QB was Alex Smith

Dana, that was by a long shot the most delightful philosophy essay I've ever read. And actually informative about the different schools of thought!

It really is a happy coincidence that the writers settled on Jason being from Jacksonville, which happened to have such a truly terrible team with such a completely made-up-sounding quarterback.

In the podcast episode where he talked at length about building his character, Manny Jacinto explained that even though he doesn't actually follow football and had never heard of either the Jaguars or Bortles before starting the show, he felt an immediate kinship with Jason because, "I, too, know the pain of deeply loving a doomed franchise, because I'm from Minnesota and so of course I am a Timberwolves fan."

The podcast has been and continues to be an unalloyed delight. I love all these people and want to be friends with them. I think, in particular, I have discovered I have a type and it is TV writers named Megan.

What is even happening?

Where can I find The Good Place podcast?

I spent the weekend listening to a few episodes of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert. I can never decide if I really like Shepard, or if I want to like him, because Kristen Bell loves him.

I love D'Arcy Carden (Janet), but the podcast episode with her got on my nerves so much I didn't listen to the Kristen Bell one.

To be clear: I had already listened to KB's first interview on her husband's podcast; he also did 5 eps of Good Place people, and she was the final for that, but I didn't bother.

It's called The Good Place: The Podcast, if that helps. I think it's pretty official, so maybe there's a link on NBC.com

Totally. But I'm willing to bet that any professional sports team (or even similarly sized group of people) has one with a silly sounding name. Probably not as perfect as Blake Bortles, though.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

There's an Aussie Rules player called Steele Sidebottom.
