Cool, thanks.

I have not been watching it because I am put off by the premise.

I also was put off by the premise and didn't start watching until people were raving about it. Now I am in love with it. I can't decide if the Narrator is my favorite or if Rogelio is.

Always Anti-fascist!

I like the Narrator, but it wouldn't work if Jane were boring.

shrift is totally me in this. I watched the first ep but was too side-eyed to really give it a chance. When people here mentioned liking it, I tried again recently and love it.

Somehow, just like an actual telanova, missing a number of episodes does not make the storyline inscrutable.

I can't remember who the old tyme comedian was who did a routine about how you can watch one episode of a soap were John and Marcia are gazing raptly at each other...go away for a few months, tune in and see John and Marcia in the same exact pose.

JtV is much, much more entertaining, but if you have to skip an ep, you won't be lost.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Good to know, as I caught up with YT up to Chapter 7, and Hulu only has the first five and the newest starting at Chapter 10.

I love the Pushing Daisies-like charm, especially with how it lacks the twee-ness.

I didn't care for the mean girls subplot, though.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Somehow, just like an actual telanova, missing a number of episodes does not make the storyline inscrutable.

Plus, if you missed anything, The Narrator will sum it up for you in a hilarious fashion at the beginning of each episode!

I like the Narrator, but it wouldn't work if Jane were boring.

Oh totally. Gina Rodriguez anchors this film with her performance. As written, Jane could have come off as too good to be real, but Rodriguez is so likable and warm and charming that you end up rooting for her every step of the way.

I didn't care for the mean girls subplot, though.

The evil twin step-sister plot? They redeem themselves later, but that episode struck one of very few wrong notes in the life of the show -- namely, Jane threatening to post unflattering / racy pictures of the little terrors online. I know it was Xio's idea, but Jane making those kinds of threats struck me as super-OOC.

But that ep had some amazing Rogelio lines, so I loved it despite my reservations. "I didn't own a car until I was 35. (32 if anyone asks.)"

Rogelio continues to give me visual dissonance, as he looks like Mark Ruffalo.

He does! Just, like, bronzed.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Rogelio is the best.

Absolutely. I want to clarify that I am totally rooting for Jane, and I love the wide variety of women characters on the show. There are so many women! It is a delight!
