Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's where I was at the beginning of last season (I felt it was a slow start--possibly the slowest sequence of episodes for me), so I'm okay with bracing myself for something similar now. 75% as funny is still enough to keep me watching--I don't have a purity of vision interest like some folks I'm rolling my eyes at today.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

yeah, I have already been keeping my expectations low. I watched every episode of "30 Rock" so I can live through highs and lows.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Heh.

I got maybe halfway through that review, maybe I'll read it later. I'm just all "Go Human Beings!" and I think I'll stick with that for today.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Not that it's a universally lauded review site, but the Daily Beast is also cautiously hopeful. So that's two voices toward a consensus.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I read both reviews, but "Troy and Abed something SOMEthing" from the first one is what's staying with me. It keeps playing in my head and making me look forward to tonight even more. October 19th in my heart, indeed.

My watch-Community-from-Starbucks plan has failed.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That made me happy. Not as happy as some other eps, but still happy.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I dug it. I laughed a lot, and I missed everyone and now they're back.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

It felt a little off to me, but maybe I was contaminated by having read the Grantland article, and feeling crappy from giving blood, and watching it by myself instead of with my regular Community-watching gang.

The laugh track was really disconcerting. And kind of creepifying.

Greendale Babies OMG.

The tag failed at the very end--that's the part that felt uncomfortable for me. It wasn't the funniest episode--but it was solidly in the middle of the pack, and use established plot points very carefully and appropriately, and recasting Pierce is never not ba.d.
