But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I checked out Go On because I was looking at it without sound on the airplane, and whoa. It does not turn out to be like the visuals had vaguely set me up to expect. I don't think Matthew Perry is pulling off what the characteristics of the lead seem to be. John Cho had to describe him for me to get what he was supposed to be. I'm way disappointed.

I also meant to catch the Mindy Project, and noticed that slipped through the net--anyone saw it and have an opinion. I want it to work, but only if it's good.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It was ok. I liked the main character ok, but some of the minor characters are really annoying. It was also a bit watch from the hall at times.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm watching The New Normal (well, half of it this week, I watched the first half of The Mindy Project before giving up). I don't think it's actually funny, but it is kind of heartwarming and enjoyable to watch.

Huh. I hated The New Normal, am surprised how much I like Go On, and am cautiously optimistic about The Mindy Project (only one epsisode in, but I think the rom-com-ness is cleverly done).

Always Anti-fascist!

-t is me. Or I am she. One nitpick about the Mindy Project: That's a lot of...I don't know, riffing. or trope-busting. I love that, like the Lance White episodes on Rockford. But there's a reason the whole show was never about Lance White and he was only on four times or something.(will that make sense to people who aren't me?) God knows, every genre has enough "stuff" that you can make fun of for a long time. and Kaling knows her stuff, she's good at it, but it was more like "Here's Mindy Kaling, playing an obstetrician who thinks she's in a movie every day...she can't act that way in real life, ha ha." But I can't even pretend to believe in it. I think the jokes are going to have to be damn good to make up for that.

I'm enjoying the New Normal and Go On, though not in love with either. Their newness is refreshing. Haven't seen Mindy.

Friday is Community, right?
