Holy crap, Gravity Falls just keeps getting better every episode.
I haven't watched this week's episode yet, but I will still agree with that statement. The time travel episode was brilliant.
On the topic of the value of rewatching, i had not realised they played music from The Breakfast Club at the end of the first ep of Community. And that there was no tag on the first ep. Made me impatient.
Has anyone here watched "Bullet in the Face" on IFC? We're watching it now. It's a weird little show with bonus Eddie Izzard.
I made at least three Community converts this weekend, which is way better than I was expecting, since, tropical beach vacation. Gave the three seasons to my sister even though she insisted she'd download them, and two of her friends who live in the US said they're planning to buy. We made it through the first six eps-- with subtitles on. The sound system was very muddy. Music loud, words not, and somehow unclear. My sister said she thought she was missing 30% of the words. I kinda felt like I had too, reading them.
It was weird. Some jokes were spoilt, since the timing was jiggered, others made clear how much the delivery contributed, and, shit, i missed a metric crapload of asides and stuff.
But i think I won't watch with them on anyway. Visually they ruined the shots, unless it's a DVD player specific thing.
Now I need to work out a Better Than Ted pitch. First thing is to work out my favourite invention. On the spot, all I can remember is the orders to weaponise pumpkins.
Wikipedia ho!
First thing is to work out my favourite invention.

Do the subtitles have a grey background? I usually love watching everything with subtitles on, but I can't stand it when they have a background color. It blocks too much of the screen or something. Too distracting.
They had black, actually, which I blame on the DVD player. and could take up to a 1/4 of the screen's height.
Okay, I just read this article about the rise of multiple camera sitcoms: [link] and it made me feel like a snobby hipster for disagreeing with everything they have to say, even including their singling out (ha ha pun) of New Girl as breaking the formula. I mean, the article is just 180 for me.
I want community¹ (no pun this time) and I want the single camera things, and I don't actually want them to do reshoots based on the studio audience. Good lord.
eta ¹: I'm not sure what the position on community is--it would seem it's a multi-camera artefact, but the placement in the article confuses me.
Parks and Rec is back, hooray!
I don't really have anything to say about tonight's episode, but it was delightful.
