I expect that Britney is more functional when she has real work to do that lets her concentrate on it. She's so externally-oriented that if she's not getting attention she is at loose and dangerous ends -- hence hanging out with all the paparrazzi which encourages her to behave badly.

So, you're saying she'd be better off with a series?

oh, that's a good point. Her life didn't start going to hell until she decided to take a break.
I think YM is the brunette Ted bumped into at the bar, though the doctor is a sweetie. LOVED the 2-minute date!
I don't think the writers know who YM is. I think they love it when we try to figure it out, though.
Really? I guess you could be right. I'm all in favor of anything that keeps this show around for as long as possible, so while I was going to say, "No! they have to show us/we need to meet whoever's under the yellow umbrella," I could wait. Maybe the new Apatow movie that Marshall is in will bring in new viewers. I'm too lazy to go look, but IIRC, the numbers were not so good for this show somewhere above.
Last's nights HIMYM was great! I especially loved the Doogie Howser reference at the end.
I thought it was a great episode and I didn't get the Doogie Howser reference. (I really didn't watch much Doogie Howser.)

TCG didn't get it either, and couldn't figure out why I was laughing so hard I nearly fell off the couch. Doogie Howser would do a computer journal entry at the end of every episode and the screen and everything looked just like that.
