Love Raising Hope.

Just realized it's over for the season. I guess the storyline where the serial killer mom comes back did have some "finale" feeling to it, but I somehow missed that. I will admit that as far as finale hoopla goes it was pretty underwhelming and not especially well done. But there was plenty of garden variety funny mixed in.
I still love Raising Hope.
Except for the enormous Jillifonts in one episode, I still like Raising Hope.
It took me awhile to get over the sense of betrayal that particular episode left me with, but in general it's a fun show.
And there is no point. Ever.
The last 2 eps were when Hope's mom miraculously wasn't dead after all and decides to fight Jimmy et al for custody, right? I didn't think it was their strongest work, but still pretty enjoyable.

It's the whole Inside Probe/Mom comes back stories. It just didn't like it and instead of thinking it was funny I just felt annoyed. I wasn't sure if they were going for a possible show finale or what. Usually I'm fine with all the implausible stuff this just bugged me.
I wasn't loving it because of the implausibility, as you said. But when they took the ridiculous all the way to 11 for the ending, it was somehow redeemed for me.
Yeah, I think that's how it went for me, too, Epic.
Also, I am a huge sap and it consistently plays into that quite effectively.
I couldn't figure out where they were going with the whole thing and I was not happy to have Nancy Grace on my TV, but the ending paid off for me.

It was just too much for me. The wacky hijinks are usually the sorts of things that somewhat eccentric people might get up to, but that storyline just strained my suspension of disbelief too far. And I happily watch Glee and Being Human so it's not as if I demand a naturalistic tone in my entertainment.
