That's Spoilage Lite material, DavidS.
P-C,
My recommendation is for you to hang in there. I don't find P&R as funny as Community, but it is more consistent. Beau thinks P&R is funnier - of the half dozen eps he has seen.
The thing I really like about P&R - is like Community - they have character growth that seems appropriate. They reference back to shit that happened before, so you are rewarded for watching the show.
There is an element of WTF about every other episode. I mean the decisions some of these people make fly in the face of reality.
Oh, luckily, I've seen a good stretch of episodes in season two, so I am confident that I will end up liking it. And I found the second episode funnier than the pilot (I want The Tom and April Show ), but it's clear the show is still trying to find its feet and figure out the characters. They're all pretty one-dimensional at this point, but, come on, it's the second episode. I'll give it time.
I know a few people who prefer it to Community, if only because it has more heart. Of course, I think Community has more heart than people give it credit for (before watching it, I had the impression that it was very mean-spirited and cynical).
I loved Parks & Rec from jump, but I am pre-sold on municipal government....
Just finished the first season. I'm liking it, but I want to see more from Leslie Knope besides "hilariously naive optimism about government."
In other news, damn, Rashida Jones in a dress.
Well, there's also "Hillary Clinton in the world's tiniest pond." Meh. I like Amy Poehler and the idea that there are Amy Poehlers out there, but I kind of hate Leslie and find that she crosses the line from "Adorable, sitcom obnoxious
That is totally hard to picture, if you mostly think of her as Claire. I think she is great, though.
