Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I thought Mercedes tore it up. Loved it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Raising Hope episode afterwards was pure love from beginning to end, but most especially Drakkar Noir.

Or maybe the spitting contest between Burt and the llama.

Or maybe the slow, spinning food can headed for Shelly.

I hope to hell this show has been renewed.

Theo, Raising Hope got an early pick up for next season. At first I didn't recongize Hope's mom, until the Princess Beyonce line. Sabrina dressing up as Jimmy..oops.. Drakkar Noir leaves the store. Kilingon! So much fun and tender too, with Maw Maw.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm going to have to explain the Drakkar Noir joke to Emmett, possibly by referencing that Panther Sweat cologne Paul Rudd used in Anchorman.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Raising Hope: The gypsy line with Sabrina in the scene had to be a Riches reference, right?

ETA: Plus the alpaca, both can't be a coincidence.

I thought of that.

ETA: Plus the alpaca, both can't be a coincidence.

I forgot about the alpaca.

I forgot about the alpaca.

TCG caught that one. We're both still bitter about The Riches being canceled.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Although didn't you think it went off the rails a bit in the 2nd season?

No, I still liked it. I think it would have lasted if it wasn't for the writer's strike. Because of the strike it was competing against regular season shows in the summer, and I think that is what killed it.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Santana was a perfect fit for Amy Winehouse. She should do "You Know I'm No Good."

Absolutely. If there had been a "winner" of the competition, it should have been her.

Kurt was technically proficient, but I didn't get the sense that he "got" the song. Which is a shame, because Kurt should be able to relate to the "I'll-do-it-my-way" message of the song. Instead, we ended up with a lot of beautiful notes with no soul to hold them together.

Points to Mercedes and Rachel for going to their strongest genres but not making an obvious choice. If only they hadn't tried to channel Aretha and Barbra, respectively.

And, okay, Mercedes needs a little more life experience before tackling "Try a Little Tenderness." It's a hard song for a high schooler to "get" because it's a grown-up song about getting over those rough spots that happen in any life. I'm not sure any of New Directions could handle it except maybe -- maybe -- Sam if he's been watching his parents closely enough lately.
