I hated B&B. HATED IT. It made me want to throttle someone. Took me years to appreciate King of the Hill on its own merits and not loathe it just because it looked the same as B&B. But i loved Daria. Oh yes, she inspired me. Never knew there was a connection.

I just watched the official "Born this Way" video. Dang, that was creepy. I fear my dreams tonight.

I am certain that there is quality in B&B episodes. That is just not my sense of humor.

People know B&B was actually good, right?

Maybe some people just didn't like B&B. I certainly didn't enjoy any of it I watched, and I gave it the same shakes I'd have given any series at the time. Which was quite a lot.

B&B -- not my thing. But all sorts of love for Daria. "We can start slow! With a few Scrunchies!"

I totally get that I'm inconsistent and a hypocrite, but the contrived singing is what completely puts me off Glee.

It's one of the things that bothers me about the show. It can't decide whether it's a "let's put on a show!" musical where all of the numbers are clearly on a stage or a "break into song" musical where the characters use music to say what words can't express by themselves.

A couple of observations about this week's Glee, which I saw last night.

Has anyone ever looked so uncomfortable as Karofsky (Big Gay Larry) holding Santana's hand? I for one can't wait to see how his story plays out.

Finn isn't buying Santana/Karofsky one bit.

I found a parallel to Buffy's OMWF. There was a theory that OMWF was about people singing to release the secrets that they couldn't say in everyday life, and Willow didn't sing because she had no intention of letting her secrets out. (Okay, okay, I know it was really because Allyson Hannigan wasn't willing to or couldn't sing, but it's a nice theory within the context of the show.) And in Glee, the two characters that only observed and didn't participate in "Born This Way" were Santana and Karofsky, the characters that are still keeping secrets of which they're ashamed.

Some interesting interplay of differences to accept vs. differences to correct. Think Miss Pillsbury's "Ginger" vs. her "OCD."

Loved loved loved Brittany's and Puck's differing uses of "I'm with stupid."

Did anyone else think "Lucy Caboosey" was less ugly and more awkward pubescent? Not that it would have been any easier for Lucy/Quinn to realize that.

I pretty much hate anything that involves Quinn, but it was kind of realistic. There was a girl in my public high school who went through a similar transformation. Of course she didn't hide it, nor did she forget who her friends were and she was always nice to everyone.

Chris Colfer makes up for a lot of the suckiness.

I have been told that I "am" Daria on more than one occasion. Except I don't have a Jane to snark to.

Glad I have you guys.

I look on Glee the way I look at 30s musicals--tedious and heavy-handed dialogue punctuated with the occasional great line, unbelievable and sometimes plain stupid stories punctuated with dancing and singing. I ignore the crap for the sake of moments like Kurt singing "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to his dad.
