Comedy 1: A Little Song, a Little Dance, a Little Seltzer Down Your Pants

The singing at the mall was my favorite part because it seemed like they had organized a flash mob rather than being just another semi-fantasy musical number.
really, I seriously snorted during this scene -- AT THE MALL?
What with all the flashmobbing these days that may have been the most realistic thing in the whole episode.
The only problem I had with the mall scene was Kurt's outfit. I love Kurt, I love almost everything about him, but that particular ensemble was irredeemably hideous.
It's the same mall where they did the "Safety Dance" flash mob in the Joss-directed episode.
I don't mean to bust Liese's chops.
No, you're right to. I totally own my inconsistency. I guess I just get more upset with it when I'm invested, and I'm generally invested because I thought they were going somewhere with, you know, stuff. Of course, I also believed the Cylons had a plan and that Torchwood was going to be ready when everything changed, so I'm kinda gullible that way.
I was, of course, totally okay with the incongruous singing and dancing in Glee. But I was a show choir kid who did sing and dance at high school. I also got ostracized and had to avoid the lunchroom, but that was going to happen anyway. And the Jane to my Daria was so awesome it was worth throwing the rest of the damn school over for that little crowd.
Which is, again, why I wish Glee were just a little more than what it is.
I'm assuming I should know this, but who are Jane and Daria?

From the MTV animated show Daria who was the main character. Her best friend was Jane. The cool thing was that they made the snarky girl the main character and her best friend? Also snarky. Possibly even more deadpan. It was double snarky goodness.
Morgana, I think you would really love it. I used to watch Daria in grad school and she was just terrific.
Ah, thank you. I never saw that. But snark is always good, and the more snark the better.
Edit -- wait, was that the same era as Beavis and Butthead? Because that would explain why I avoided anything animated on MTV.
