Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

She was trying to become a 70s singer-songwriter, so she dressed the part....

giraffe mode

You know, I had not one but two Gunnie Sax dresses both worn to winter formals. Plus I had several pair of plaid (yes, plaid) bell bottom pants that I wore to school regularly. My senior picture also includes a puka shell necklace (I howled at night's Raising Hope). The 70s...man, fashion nightmare.

Because books.

The dress took me right back. Thank god I didn't have a mint green one, though.

Gunne Sax and Jessica McClintock (or was she part of Gunne Sax) were de rigeur for prom there for a while. With feather earrings.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

It's time for a live action version of Archer. I just saw a girl who needs to play Lana.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Have you seen pictures of the woman who voices Lana?

Because Aisha Tyler couldn't possibly look more Lana-like. Also, she's six feet tall.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But does Aisha Tyler have enormous man-hands? Because I feel like that's key.

Compassionately intolerant

The 70s...man, fashion nightmare.

Dawn and Amy are my sisters. And, yup, Jessica McClintock was with Gunne Sax.

wiki tells all:

Although she earlier had wanted to teach for a profession, she purchased the Gunne Sax clothing company in 1969, which lead her later to create the company now known as Jessica McClintock, Inc.[1] That company sells a wide range of consumer items, including clothing, clothing accessories, eyeglasses, bridal wear, and home decor items.

I was such a fashion victim in the 70's, I loved her stuff!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I really want to see everybody in their gunne sacks now.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I totally had a gunne sax dress in the early 80's. Loved it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We might need to have a fashion victim showdown to see who most exemplified their era.

I know I've got pictures of my Willie Wear blue suit in the 80s...
