yeah, I'm not sure what to do about this show. The dichotomies in storyline have always been there, but this ep really exemplified how well they can do Curt's story and how poorly they can do stories featuring/about women. Bieste's was really atrocious. And worse yet? Totally unnecessary.

I wasn't happy with a lot of things on Glee last night, but I will say that I did like the realism of the football player's behavior not changing at the end. That's what really would have happened. It would not have been all rainbows and flowers and he would not have started avoiding Kurt or becoming his best buddy. He and "the Fury" would have continued their abuse, and probably escalated (as shown by the fact that Kurt got shoved hard enough to fall down the last time).
I am disturbed, however, that Shue's only reaction was to give him some water and say "is there anything I can do". Yes, asshole, there IS something you can do. You are a teacher, you can punish this student for his behavior. You may not be able to stop the homophobia, but you can affect its manifestation on YOUR student.

There was an interview in the NY Times today where the producer said that that's what he was going for -- showing that a lot of teachers and schools aren't doing what they should.
I agree with Kathy that the kiss was just too much. I though his little speech was pretty decent, and he could have just ended it there. She doesn't need your pity, pretty boy.
t /guess it pinged me too
I agree that Schue needs to step up and do something about it. It's probably more accurate that he doesn't, but they weren't exactly shooting for accuracy when they created a 100% gay-friendly private school in western Ohio, either. Chris Colfer said something on Twitter about this being the first episode of their "bullying saga," so maybe they're planning to address it in the future.
I'm afraid I really only have one comment about Glee:
LET YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME IN MY SKINTIGHT JEANS BE YOUR TEENAGE DREAM TONIGHT
That number was scrumptious.
I'm pretty sure I just swooned for the rest of the hour, instead of actually paying attention.
The Warblers were sorta awesome and Sue's confetti cannons were so "Sue" but I hated the Coach Bieste plot. I called Schue kissing her as soon as she said she'd never been kissed, and it was so unnecessary. To quote the ew.com TAR recapper, Will is turning into a "douchecatazz"
I loved the Warblers and hated the Coach Bieste plot and also knew that Shue was going to kiss her. He is such an asshat. Can they really not be doing this on purpose?

Such a contrast between that and Kurt's lovely, gently done "first kiss" conversation. It's like there's different people writing these storylines.
