He pretended to be attracted to Sue, then stood her up in a restaurant (track suit and pearls, kinda funny).

He decided that, to get himself out of his funk, and to get back at Sue, he would try to seduce her and then he stood her up. BUt there was this song where he was doing all sorts of hip thrusts and looking soulfully into Sue's eyes and I just literally couldn't watch. Even though I think he's hot and all that.
My question - when did Jesse break up with Rachel? I actually thought they broke up and then got back together for the whole meeting Rachel's mom thing. And I'm confused - Idina's character wanted to Jesse facilitate her meeting Rachel AND break her heart? I know - I'm expecting too much from a show that I should enjoy for the pretty.
I actually like the Good Vibrations song, but the Quinn/Mercedes moment was weird.
To be fair, "Good Vibrations" was cringe-worthy in exactly the same way it is when Marky Mark sings it.
It's a shame they didn't have a number by Sly and the Family Stone or the Isley Brothers in this episode.
I just have to turn the sound off any time Morrison attempts something like Funk or Hip Hop. He's great on ballads and show tunes and classic Rock, but he can only do Funk well when it's that Disco-era mix that's supposed to be lame, like KC and the Sunshine Band.

And, for those of us who remember the original, competing with Chaka Khan.
like KC and the Sunshine Band.
I love Boogie Shoes!
So...exactly what it looked like from the previews then. That`s too bad, I was hoping that was a misdirect. Emma`s too good for him.
I thought "Man's World" was hilarious. Wasn't it supposed to be funny?
And I'm confused - Idina's character wanted to Jesse facilitate her meeting Rachel AND break her heart?
This was confusing me, too. It's possible that something else was supposed to happen with the planted tape -- Idina's character couldn't have known that Rachel would sneak into that rehearsal and hear her sing -- but I can't figure out what that would have been.
I think that at first we were supposed to think that Idina sicced Jesse on Rachel to break her heart, then feel badly when it was revealed that the reason why she sicced Jesse on Rachel was so that she could meet her daughter. And now we're back to Operation Destroy Rachel With A Broken Heart.
I think what spun my head over the whole thing was the "I don't want to hurt her" (or something like that) said by Jesse in the "previously on" bits.
There were so many watch from the hall moments mixed in with way too funny bits. Will be interesting to rewatch, but I'm not chomping at the bit to hit up Tivo as I usually am.
