Comedy 1: A Little Song, a Little Dance, a Little Seltzer Down Your Pants
This thread is for comedy TV, including network and cable shows. [NAFDA]
The one Boosh character I could never get into is the Crack Fox. While Gregg sort of creeps me out, I love his song. And even the Hitcher gets a pass for Eels, but the Crack Fox just makes me uncomfortable/sad.
David, when you get through the episodes, be sure to find the live performances on youtube. They are the same, but even more fun than the shows.
Man, I've given the Boosh an alarming amount of my lifespan.
My love for Kurt's dad cannot be measured. Really.
Go, Burt! That's laying down the law. I hope Finn paid attention.
OMG, Puck is going to break my heart. Waaaah!
Loved Burt and Tina tonight. I wish Kurt's reluctance to have Finn around and bonding with his dad had continued to outweigh his crush though, it would have been better if they hadn't thrown that storyline back to where it was a month ago. (And I much preferred the Finn who cheerfully and politely turned down what he thought was a prom invite from Kurt back toward the start of the show.)
I'm not sure why Shelby had to take that weird all-or-nothing stance on getting to know Rachel. She could have actually become a figure in her daughter's life without stepping into the role of parent.
I'm writing up Shelby's all or nothing to being a casting issue. Don't know if that is true, just my feeling.
LOVED Burt. One of CJ's friends made a flippant FB comment and now I want to ask her if she is a Gleek and ask her what she thought of the episode. Don't know if she will get it, but it could be worth a try.
I have an insane love for Beth and loved Puck pulling that out.
I want Burt to be my dad, and I love my dad, but come on. Burt? Best dad ever!
Shelby's all or nothing stance made sense to me. She's a huge drama queen, just like her daughter, so of course she'd take the all or nothing approach. The Poker Face duet was fine and I liked that version more than the original, which I hate only slightly less than that disco stick song, but my word, Idina killed on Funny Girl. She is a wonder.
And I would totally be Puck's baby mama.
Kurt's dad just became my all time favorite TV dad.
The only problem is that while I LOVE Kurt's dad, Kurt needed a strong talking to himself for his aggressive pursuit of Finn. Finn was not right at all, but up until the epithet, I was empathetic.
I'm with le nubian. I totally heart Burt for...well, everything. But the moving in was not handled very well and I'd expect parents to expect adjustment issues, under the circumstances. He's such a sensitive, do-right guy, I would have liked to see at least a suggestion of 'let's talk this out.'
But, this really did seem to be the all-or-nothing rejection episode.
I need to rewatch because this was the first episode that didn't really grab me at all. Perhaps it was mood related.
