Motley Crue is my guilty pleasure hair band. I'd love to see the kids take on some classic hair band metal.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh my heavens, my perennial audition song. Although I never tried for the coloratura note. But the memories that brings back.

That said, poor, poor Kurt. However, the writing was a little disjointed in this ep for me. Thematically, it was good, but for the first time, the songs really felt forced in terms of scene placement. Which made me really sad because the idea of the storyline was so good.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

grumblegrumble American Idol... I forgot to set my DVR to end 5 minutes late. Was that Dwight Ewell as the reporter?

But yay! I've always thought Kurt and Mercedes have the best voices on the show. So wonderful to hear them showcased and bonus Kristin Chenoweth. I almost didn't notice we were missing Emma.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Yes. I have to admit I was relieved to get a break from the constant Rachel, Rachel, Rachel.

I'll gladly listen to Mercedes sing anything, but was that really a pep rally/cheerleader kind of thing? Last week, with the "4 Minutes" routine, oh yeah, that was fantastic and fit the storyline. But tonight was more concert than cheerleader-esque.

And before I forget I have to mention that Kurt and his Dad have my favorite relationship on the show.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Poor Kurt. I hurt for him, but at the same time, I'm glad they at least nodded at the fact that he pretty much created the situation and wasn't acting in good faith himself.

Big yes on Rachel in the background for a bit.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm at the point where I need to meet Rachel's gay dads. I keep envisioning one as David Gest. Or a couple who would fit right in on "Best in Show."

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have a secret hope that Rachel's gay dads are Paul Reiser and Greg Evigan.

I would be speechless with laughter, if such a thing were possible.
