I have mixed feelings about "The Guild." I'm not sure if it is because I'm generally unfamiliar with the culture of role-playing games, but some of the humor I am really uncomfortable with.
I think it is difficult for me to find really damaged, selfish people entertaining.
I realize I shouldn't take it seriously, but damn. There's some pitiful shit going on.
Ooh I didn't finish watching The Guild. Yay Wheaton!
And it just got the official pick-up for season four, woo!
it just got the official pick-up for season four
What does that mean in the case of this web-series? I thought it was pretty much self-produced.
It was for the first season, but then they worked out a deal with Xbox/Microsoft. So they have a slightly larger budget now and the show looks better. I don't know the exact terms of the deal, but part of it is that they get first rights on distribution: the episodes are exclusive to msn.com and Xbox months before they are posted on YouTube. The show is still pretty low-budget, though (there's a bit in the gag reel about rushing to get the last shot of the day at a location before the sun goes down). Also, they can afford to have longer episodes.
I think Santana/Brittany is my new OTP.
I fricking love Jane Lynch. She's one awesome lady.
Ok. The
"Vogue" video was worth the entire effing season.
Holy eff that was awesome.
