Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I like that the kids have parents. Parents with their own issues instead of being absentee or Mr. & Mrs. Cleaver.

So, Shue hasn't seen his wife's belly in how long because of disgusting pustules? That she hasn't gone to the doctor for treatment? Ok, we have an "explanation" now, but the handwavium is getting pretty heavy. She is such an utter *itch. It makes it hard to have sympathy for Shue for being such an oblivious idiot. Though when he sings...mmmmmm.

I kept waiting for Puck to be more of an ass during the final number.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I liked the contrast between Quinn's parents and Finn's mom.

Pretty much mirrored what happened when I came out (though thankfully I was out of the house). My college-educated parents dissed me, my girlfriend's mom (actually lived in a trailer) immediately "adopted" me.

Does anyone else think "gleek" is when you squirt out of your saliva ducts?

Yup. Or the monkey.

It makes it hard to have sympathy for Shue for being such an oblivious idiot.

Totes magotes.

Though when he sings...mmmmmm.

I could *not* stop laughing during "Eternal Love." Shue's face was nonstop hilarious.

Not cute: How much I would call Puck, given I'm old enough to be his mother.

Oh yah.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The Deadwood fan in me reads this as "gleet" and you just don't want to know.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Can someone explain to me the hypocrisy of being in a religious family and kicking your pregnant daughter out of the house? What do you expect your daughter to do? I can see the whole 1950s thing of sending her to live with a relative, but kicking her out of the house? To live God knows where? I don't understand the logic in this.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

The problem with that religious family is that they're all about the image of being a religious family. It's all external stuff, like the chastity ball, about showing it off how good you are. Everything's tied up in that image, about how you have it all together and how you're awesome in how spiritual you are.

Then when someone goes and mucks up that image, makes it impossible for your family to pretend that it is perfect, there isn't anywhere to go with it. He just rejects her out of hand, because if she were playing right, it wouldn't be possible for this to have happened. And if it happened, then the only way to go on pretending is to get rid of the evidence, aka, their hurting teenage daughter who desperately needs them. Denial. It's not just a river in Egypt.

Not defending the behavior, just saying that sadly, I can see it happening. On the other hand, I know Christian families who, in these circumstances, have reacted perhaps badly initially, but who have gotten it together to be completely supportive and willing to struggle together to make things work.

My cousin (the one that don't talk to me any more) is married to a pastor and they have 4 daughters. One of them got pregnant, not even sure if she knew who the dad was but he isn't in the picture, and they have embraced both her and the new baby. (I get all my info through my other cousins.)

On one hand, I'm glad they are supporting her but it bugs cause they cut me out since I'm not religious enough. I think. I'm not really sure. But whatever the reason - family is supposed to be family.

Ok - back to Glee...Quinn's parents are absolutely about the image more than actual faith.
